FX hit show Atlanta leads the Emmys with 16 nominations The 2018 Emmy nominations were announced today and people may be surprised with some new faces that has joined some of television and film veterans. Among the new faces that is nominated is 15 year SNL cast member Kenan Thompson, who is nominated in the category for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series also in that category are fellow SNL actor Alec Baldwin as well as Louie Anderson (Baskets), Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta), Tony Shalhoub (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) and Henry Winkler (Barry) for the Emmy award. RECOMMENDED: CHILDISH GAMBINO RELEASES NEW MUSIC FOR THE SUMMER Actor/writer/director/artist Donald Glover's FX hit series Atlanta is dominating this years Emmy's with 16 nominations in all. Brian Tyree Henry, who plays Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles, is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Zazie Beetz, who portrays Van, is up for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Another notable nomination is comedian Katt Williams is nominated as well for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. This is also the first time HBO did not lead the Emmys with nominations, however the networks' hit shows Game of Thrones and Curb Your Enthusiam have nominations as well. This will mark the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards and will be hosted SNL's Weekend Update hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che. The Emmy's will air on NBC on Sept.17th.
